Baobab trees in Tarangire National Park

Tarangire's Wildlife Wonderland

Established in 1970, Tarangire National Park is Tanzania's sixth largest park, covering 2,850 square kilometers. The park is named after the Tarangire River that flows through it, providing life to the incredible concentrations of wildlife, especially during the dry season from June to October.

Elephant Paradise

Tarangire has the highest density of elephants in Tanzania, with herds of up to 300 individuals. The park's baobab trees provide both food (their fruit) and water storage (their trunks can hold up to 1,000 liters) for these majestic creatures.
